100 Things For 100 Days from Stephanie Toney on Vimeo.
So this was THE hardest thing I have ever tried to upload! I took the images and used iMovie on the iPad so when I tried to upload it to youtube it "failed", when I tried to save it to iTunes it wouldn't appear, and when I tried to email it the error message said it was too big. I finally tried vimeo (yet another account created!) and then I had the darndest time trying to get it so my students were protected from anyone but those in this class! The password is EDUC584. I also transferred to my laptop and will try to use youtube from there to make it easier... but that may be just as hard or harder!
Because my subject was the 100th day, it was pushed back until the last minute before vacation (thank you snow!) and so the narration hasn't been done yet. I was going to have them describe their project but I am contemplating another idea. I don't love the music or theme so this is a WORK IN PROGRESS and I would love your feedback.
Did you export the iMovie in .m4v format or .mov format? You have several choices of how to Export a Project from iMovie. I found that first Sharing a Project in one of the formats worked better than the option to Share directly to YouTube. From there, you would use the Upload feature in YouTube and find the saved file (probably in the Movies folder.)
ReplyDeleteI have had better success uploading to YouTube than Vimeo, especially for large file sizes.
Also, I will show in class how to upload to Google Drive and then embed in Blogger. That method might work better, but it will depend on the format you used to Export the video.
I know with the Export iMovie features on the MacBook, the two file formats I named above work fine for uploading to YouTube. You are limited to videos no longer than 15 minutes, but I doubt we need to make videos longer than that for now. Also, did you see the blog post I did on How to Upload Your Video to YouTube? Guessing you did. Because iMovie is new to the iPad, it is just a matter of time until ways to upload videos will be made easier with more choices available.
You will also likely find tutorials on how to upload an iMovie done on the iPad to YouTube.
P.S. The video is playing find from your post. Just watched it.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this post on another teacher's blog, 100th Day of School, I thought of you:
