Has anyone ever used http://www.studyzone.org/testprep/ela3.cfm before? I am currently putting together a Mimio file for a unit on "elements of nonfiction". This is a cheap version of a smartboard, for those who haven't heard of it. It's files are very similar to powerpoints but the children can interact with the pages using a stylus on the white board and it has many digital features. So instead of writing lesson plans anymore, I basically create units (aka mimio files) for each unit I do for every subject and date/ label them day 1, day 2, day 3, etc. I digress... So as I was looking for nonfiction images to include I stumbled upon this site and was overwhelmed and excited by the digital lessons. Please, if you teach grades 1-3, check these out! They are complex enough yet easy enough for kids in those grades to learn this essential information!!!
